The eoa was originally founded and based in London but, for more than a decade we’ve been based in Brough – with a few years in nearby Melton sandwiched between – where we’ve continued to grow our membership, scope, and ambition.
The next step for the eoa was a long and thoughtful decision involving our board and beyond. After much deliberation and discussion, we’ve selected Manchester as our new HQ.
We’ll now be based at 1 Balloon Street, close to Manchester Victoria train station, keeping us accessible for members and partners alike, and providing flexible ways of working as we continue to build and grow.
Our team members are based around the UK and will travel periodically to the office and to visit members and partners.
“We’ve selected Manchester for the new home for the eoa based on a number of key factors including its central location and strong transport connectivity,” says James de le Vingne, Chief Executive of the eoa.
“But it’s also got a high concentration of employee owned businesses, a deep talent pool, and strong social and civic roots that align with our own values as a non-profit focussed on building a fairer, more equitable economy.
“We can’t wait to get our new office set up and open our doors to members and stakeholders who want to visit us.”
The move follows the launch of the first-ever UK Employee Ownership Growth Strategy which aims to grow the sector to 7,500 EO businesses by 2030.
