Shaping a better economic future

There’s an unprecedented opportunity for employee ownership and its impacts to play a key role in shaping a better economic future for the UK. People powered growth will unlock benefits for people, business, communities, and the environment.

Working with our members and partners, we’ve identified the relevant actions that can be taken to incentivise employee ownership, build the EO sector, support existing employee owned businesses to fulfil their growth potential, and unlock the model’s impacts for businesses, employees, and our wider economy and society.

Working With Our Members - Our Principles

Our policy work aims to ensure employee owned businesses have the right conditions to thrive. As the voice of the EO sector, we're addressing the most relevant challenges and opportunities facing employee owned businesses.

To accomplish this, our priorities and proposals are always member-led. They emerge from the insight, expertise, and lived experience of the employee owned businesses and supporters in our network.

Our four policy priorities were developed in consultation with members and further evolved to deliver on their aspirations.

  • Sustaining EO sector growth
  • Clear government leadership
  • Accessible capital for EO businesses to invest in their future
  • An effective business support eco-system
