EOA Podcast: Episode 18 – #TheEOeffect

To help us highlight this impact, Episode 18 features an employee owned business headquartered in Bolton, an employee from a Scottish EO business, an employee ownership adviser, and a not-for-profit organisation that is all about helping communities thrive.

- Robert Postlethwaite is the founder and MD of Postlethwaite Solicitors, the sponsor of EO Day 2023, which has helped 120 businesses transition to employee ownership in the last 20 years. A few months before sponsoring EO Day, the company became 100% employee owned itself through an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).
- Mathew Haslam is Founding Director at Hardscape, which transitioned to an EOT in July 2022. Hardscape was founded in 1992 by Mathew to provide an optimum choice of materials for use in placemaking streets, building, towns and cities across the UK and overseas. It has 60 employees with a headquarters in Bolton, and bases in London, the Midlands and Edinburgh.
- Rachel Laurence is Deputy CEO at not-for-profit organisation Centre for Thriving Places. The consultancy works with authorities and organisations across the UK who are interested in how you change things on the ground to put the wellbeing of people, place and planet centre stage in communities, including different ways businesses can be run. It is also a partner of the EOA in the Ownership Hub programme.
- Tracey Round is Assistant Quality Manager at Aquascot, which has 170 employees, has been supplying fish to Waitrose for 30 years, and became 100% employee owned in 2016. Tracey has worked for the Scottish company for 10 years and been part of its partnership council (PC) for a number of years, becoming chair at the start of 2023.
