UK EO Awards Highly Commended: Purpose is key to success

More than 95% of staff were engaged in the decision for Provide CIC to be formed as an employee owned social enterprise as it spun out from the NHS in 2011.

The theme of engagement and empowering staff has continued with 89% employees saying they would recommend their services to friends and family and 92.4% feeling a sense of pride in their job.

Judges were impressed with Provide CIC’s strategy and purpose that has seen its 1222 employees who provide community services across Essex, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Waltham Forest and Redbridge innovate and offer excellent care.

Responding to changes in the commissioning model for its services, Provide has successfully restructured itself to bid as the prime provider, which includes creating an Essex-wide single-model sexual health service that includes online services, while also meeting its strategic objective of an additional £2m of income.
