Following last year’s successful ‘Employee Ownership Explained’ webinar series, Co-operative Development Scotland, part of Scottish Enterprise, will be hosting a further 3 webinars on employee ownership that will go beyond the facts and figures.  These 3 webinars will focus on the Employee Ownership Trust (EOT); using the legislation to achieve the best outcomes, financial planning for an EOT transaction and the role of the bank in an EOT transaction.

Aimed at professional advisers these expert webinars will explore different aspects to help advisers broaden their knowledge and equip them to support their clients in making informed decisions. The webinars are also relevant for business owners looking towards succession planning.

The EOT – using the legislation to achieve the best outcomes, Thursday 23 September 2021, 10-11am

Graeme Nuttall OBE, the driving force behind the introduction of the EOT, will talk through the reason for the legislation and its requirements and will explore how you can tailor the implementation to meet company aims. Graeme will give some insight into where the EOT is being adopted internationally and will give a view on what’s next for employee ownership in the UK.

Financial Planning for an EOT Transaction, Thursday 28 October 2021, 10-11am

Zoe Gillespie and Tom O’Brien from Brewin Dolphin will provide an overview of succession planning from the business owner’s perspective, how to prepare for the EOT transaction, and what factors will influence and shape the deal. They will also offer some insight into how to manage the income gained from the transaction.

The role of the bank in an EOT transaction, Thursday 25 November 2021, 10-11am

Andy Scott, Senior Relationship Manager at RBS will talk about when and how to involve your bank in the transaction. He will also explore important considerations when planning a move to the EOT and what to put in place to ensure a successful transaction.
