March: member transitions, milestones and successes
In this month’s EO Today we are able to celebrate three transitions, four employee ownership birthdays and a success story that congratulates employee engagement in an employee owned business.
Transitions
TensCare, which provides, develops and distributes tens machines for pain relief or muscle rehabilitation and employs a team of 17, transitioned on March 1 and heralded the news on it’s website as a “a positive alternative to more traditional ownership models and offers real advantages to both the employees and the prosperity of the business”.
Ethos Imaging, which employees 5 people and provides print office equipment and software, became employee owned in February [check] after announcing its intentions on its website and how it aimed to use employee ownership to create benefits for customers from a team that is invested in the businesses therefore creating a competitive advantage for the business in a competitive market.
BB Partnership, which employs 14 people, is among the growing number of Architects firms becoming employee owned transitioned to employee ownership in February. Their CEO predicts that nearly all architects practices will become employee owned in the future.
Milestones
We would like to say a Happy Employee Ownership birthday to The Language Shop which celebrated 1 year on February 29, IS Oxford which celebrated 1 year on March 10, Sutcliffe Play which celebrated 7 years on March 16 and Coverdale which celebrates 2 years on March 31.
Successes
Our member Merlin Energy Resources has recently won the Oil & Gas UK Award for Workforce Engagement (pictured). This is a perfect example of when a stake in the business teamed with great employee engagement drives success, so it is great news to see Merlin commended for their employee culture and structures.
