Judges insight Nicola Ryan – UK Employee Ownership Awards 2019
Nicola Ryan, Joint Director of People Services, Rowlinson Knitwear said:
I’m really delighted to be a judge for the UK Employee Ownership Awards for the second consecutive year.
My professional passion is employee engagement that drives performance. As a judge, I get a valuable insight into the many ways that EO businesses empower their people to be the change that leads to success. These powerful stories inspired Rowlinson in our journey to become employee owned in 2015.
It’s my experience that the awards offer the opportunity to reflect on and showcase the collective endeavour of your business. For Rowlinson, entering the awards helped us to recognise and celebrate our EO journey with all our people. We’re also really proud to be a beacon for employee ownership as winner of the Rising Star of the Year award in 2017.
Our win was a powerful acknowledgment of everything we do as an engaged business where being EO underpins all that we uphold – our values culture, ethical commitment, great governance, and improved productivity and profit with purpose that contributes to being a “better business”.
Like my business, your star can continue to rise if you acknowledge your success. So if you have not already applied, what are you waiting for? I look forward to hearing your stories this year. Good luck!
