EOA search for EO member business senior finance professional for crucial board role

The EOA is looking for a senior, qualified financial professional from an EOA member business (partner member) to join the EOA board.

Applicants for the new role will need to fill the shoes of our departing board member and Finance and Audit Sub-committee Chair.

The board needs someone who is a strategist who enjoys providing appropriate challenge to develop and enhance the EOA’s strategy, who can also play a pivotal role on the EOA’s Finance and Audit sub-committee, becoming Chair in October 2024.

The incoming board representative, who will need to be from an EOA business in the Partner Member category, will have the benefit of shadowing the current Finance and Audit Sub-committee Chair Jo Ritzema, who has served in the position for more 9 years as she comes to the end of the agreed maximum time in the role.

In the role of Finance and Audit Sub-committee Chair, Jo has been instrumental in helping the EOA grow, with recent years seeing the turnover grow to £1 million then quickly followed by £2 million.

Chair of the EOA, Chris McDermott, said: “Jo has been an excellent supporter, challenger and advocate in her three terms on the board and chairing the EOA’s Finance and Audit sub-committee.

“We are extremely grateful for the work she has put in during the past decade and her offer to help support the development of the incoming new board member.

“We also look forward to the new insights our new board member and sub-committee chair will bring as the organisation goes through its transformation.”

James de le Vingne, Chief Executive of the EOA, said:

“We are delighted to offer this opportunity to someone from an EO business in our membership at what is an exciting time for the business. We are looking for someone to help steer and support the direction and strategy of the association, play a role in championing the sector and guide me in my role as Chief Executive as I lead the EOA on the next stages of its growth and transformation.”

The deadline for applications for this role is close of play on Tuesday 19 December, with interviews to be held January 11.
