EOA Member News – Cullinan Studio open for business in the Midlands

Cullinan Studio has announced today that it has established a permanent base in the Midlands and is developing a regional presence to respond to opportunities in the area.

The architectural and masterplanning practice is seeking to build upon a strong portfolio of built work across the region, including Building Awards 2020 Project of the Year, the National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC), which is one of several buildings completed for WMG at the University of Warwick. Other projects in the Midlands include the RIBA Award-winning BFI Master Film Store archive in Warwickshire, Shenley Academy and Sixth Form Centre in Birmingham and the longest treetop walkway in the UK in Leicestershire.

Richard Pulford, who originates from Nottingham, is leading our new presence in the region. Richard is Project Architect for the new Institute of Technology, a higher education facility currently on site in Dudley that is being delivered via the innovative Integrated Project Insurance (IPI) procurement model. He said of the move:

“We feel the time is right to make a commitment to the Midlands, as a strong and diverse centre for enterprise and culture, we are excited about the opportunities a regional office will offer us, both in enhanced continuity of service to our existing clients and the ability to grow our network of new clients and collaborators.”

Cullinan Studio, an employee-owned business and EOA member, believes that architecture is a social act, both in its creation and its impact on people and planet. This year the practice launched a campaign to ‘Make Room for Nature’ and is looking forward to establishing new relationships with like-minded organisations and individuals in developing practical ways to unite the built and natural environment.
