Employee-owned MSL Solution Providers scoops Queen’s Award for International Trade
The UK’s leading microbiological testing and regulatory specialist, MSL Solution Providers, has been honoured with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade.
Celebrating business excellence across the UK, this year 226 organisations nationally have been recognised for their contribution to International Trade, Innovation, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity (through Social Mobility).
And the EOA would like to congratulate employee-owned MSL Solution Providers after it was commended for its excellence in international trade, specifically for its outstanding short-term growth.
Just three years ago, MSL Solution Providers was servicing 25 countries; today, roughly half of its business comes from export sales to approximately 60 countries.
Founded in 2001, MSL Solution Providers is one of the UK’s leading microbiological testing and regulatory houses, specialising in cosmetics, personal care, and household cleansing markets.
Over the past 20 years, the company has grown to a team of more than 30 people, who collectively own a minimum of 51% of the company following its move to an employee ownership model in 2019.
Carolyn Burney, Managing Director of MSL Solution Providers, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been recognised by Her Majesty the Queen. Winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade is a real honour and is testament to the hard work, passion, and commitment of the whole team.
“I’m so proud of this achievement – it’s a real team effort so thank you! A special thank you must also go to founder Angela Davies and Chairman Mark Fenn. Both have recently retired from the day-to-day running of the business, but their inspiration and hard work lives on and we celebrate this accolade with them.”
The company will be visited later this year by Her Majesty The Queen’s local representative, the Lord-Lieutenant of the County, where they’ll be presented with a Grant of Appointment and a commemorative crystal trophy. In addition, a company representative will be invited to a Royal reception at Buckingham Palace in July.
Now in its 56th year, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the country, with winning businesses able to fly The Queen’s Awards flag at their main office and use the esteemed Queen’s Awards Emblem for the next five years.
