Join us as we come together for this face to face networking event, giving you the opportunity to connect, learn and discuss the unique challenges and opportunities you face with other employee owned businesses. This event is generously sponsored by RM2, the employee share scheme specialists.
Who should attend?
Our face to face events are designed for founders, leadership teams, HR, communications, finance and employee representatives at different stages of employee ownership to meet one another.
What to expect
You’ll hear first-hand experience from employee owned businesses on their approach to embedding an EO culture, through good governance, good leadership, and good communications and engagement. You’ll hear honest accounts of the highs and lows of their journey. Hear from:
John Lewis Partnership
Dame Sharon White, Chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, discusses the benefits of being an employee owned business and why the John Lewis Partnership will always be owned by its employees.
Dame Sharon will outline her vision for the future of the partnership, the importance of customer service and the prospects for retail and the high street.
Hear from Malcolm Clarke, Managing Director at Baxall Construction, and a member of his team to find out how becoming employee owned was driven by the desire to create a legacy as part of the business’ succession planning and how EO was a natural next step given the existing culture. Also hear about its strategic focus on leadership development, its rewards and incentives, and how information in shared.
In small groups, you will have the opportunity to meet and learn from your peers in other EO businesses. Discuss challenges, opportunities, support and learn from one another in two elements of the event:
- Topic-based discussions: to facilitate this, you’ll see on our registration form we ask you submit a topic you’d like to gain insight on, and experience you’re able to share. Make sure you make the most of the opportunity!
- Sharing insights on key roles: whatever your role – employee trustees and representatives, founders, leadership teams, HR, communications – and whatever stage of employee ownership, you’ll be connected to people in similar positions to learn from one another.
You’ll also have an opportunity to speak to:
- RM2 on share incentive schemes for recognising and rewarding employees.
- London & Capital on the financial considerations when selling your business to an EOT.
Please note, the event is only open to EOA members. Also, to allow attendance from a breadth of EOA members, places are restricted to a maximum of 2 people per organisation.
