Join us for a virtual roundtable discussion on Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs) on Tuesday the 27 June 2023.

At the end of April 2023, the UK government announced that they will launch a consultation “on the use and effectiveness” of EOTs to ensure that the tax regime is targeted at incentivising employee ownership “whilst preventing the reliefs from being used for unintended tax planning.”

The EOA is seeking to gain input and insight from members to begin shaping how we respond to this consultation. This roundtable will help us to ensure we are capturing the EO sector’s shared priorities and interests in our response.

Join us virtually for an opportunity to share your views on the incentives and advantages of EOTs, to discuss how best to protect the integrity of the model, and to address any challenges and technical issues around EOTs and related legislation. We will also share early proposals we have identified through our existing research and evidence for your feedback.

This is one of three roundtables that the EOA will be hosting in June and July 2023 as part of our consultation and engagement to co-produce the policy priorities for the EO sector with our members. This will ensure that our work going forward is both evidence-led and addresses the most relevant issue to employee owned businesses. The priorities developed here will inform future policy activity within the EOA network, and inform how we engage and influence government, decision-makers, and other key stakeholders.
