Aardman Animations

As the Oscar-winning animation studio responsible for world-renowned titles such as Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Chicken Run and more, Aardman’s transition to employee ownership caused ripples in the media industry when it was announced in 2018. more

Scott & Fyfe

Scottish firm Scott & Fyfe, which has been designing and producing a vast range of technical textiles for global markets for over 150 years, has a hybrid EO model. Its Employee Benefit Trust (EBT) holds at least 51% of shares to have the majority of the shareholding, while direct ownership is achieved through a combination of a share incentive plan (SIP) and an enterprise management incentive scheme (EMI). more

Peter Blanc from Howden highlights the cultural and financial benefits of its direct ownership model. Howden has always had employee ownership at its heart - 35% of shares in the business are owned by employees as the biggest shareholder group, with three different investment houses each owning just over 20%, which ensures Howden stays under employee ownership for the long term. more
