New guidance on forming employee mutuals to provide public services has been published by EOA and partners OPM, Baxi Partnership and Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP. Cabinet Office Minister Francis Maude MP, who leads the Government’s mutuals drive, spoke at the Parliamentary launch of ‘How to become an employee owned mutual’ on 3 March. The guide is a step by step checklist and includes a foreword by John Lewis Partnership chairman Charlie Mayfield.

Planning for a Mutual

I am planning to develop a business to promote training and consultancy. Conventionally such businesses are often developed as associate networks. I want to set my face against such networks and promote co-ownership and social value in both the delivery of contracted service and in contributing to entrepreneurial development. - Any guidance you can offer will be gratefully received.
