EOA welcomes formation of new industry leadership group

The Employee Ownership Association (EOA) has welcomed the announcement this week of the formation of a new industry leadership group called Scotland for Employee Ownership (SfEO).

Deb Oxley, Chief Executive of the EOA commented, “With the aim to increase the number of employee and worker-owned businesses in Scotland from around 100 to 500 by 2030, SfEO will provide an important influencer of the growth of the UK employee owned sector and reflects the opportunity recently uncovered by the Ownership Dividend.

The EOA has been working with the partners of the steering group that guided the development of SfEO over the last few months and will be a permanent member of the leadership group.

Deb added, “The launch of SfEO is an important step in the continued elevation of employee ownership as a mainstream business model and I congratulate the Scottish Government on this innovative move.  The EOA very much looks forward to continued collaboration with Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise and Highlands & Islands Enterprise as part of the SfEO leadership group.”
