EOA Corporate Governance Reform response shines light on fairer ways of doing business

Responding to the Government’s Corporate Governance Reform Green Paper, the EOA has shone a light on the outstanding examples of corporate governance from within the employee ownership sector.

The EOA’s response includes evidence from employee owned organisations from a range of sizes and sectors including professional services, manufacturing, retail and distribution and health and social care.

The response demonstrates a high level of positive examples of where employee owned businesses are structured to have the cultural norms relating to the transparency and checks and balances of executive pay and pay ratios and of how employee voice is represented and valued within their businesses.

In turn many of these businesses reported how this had translated into better performance, productivity and sustainability.

CEO Deb Oxley said: “We would like to thank our members who have provided their case studies or shared their thoughts linked to Corporate Governance which we have used to shape our response.

“I feel very proud of that we were able to offer a submission that represents how the EOA has a wealth of examples within its 320-strong membership of better and fairer ways of doing business.”
