Come together to celebrate the 5th EO Day

Employee owners and those interested in employee ownership are being urged to make some noise for the 5th national Employee Ownership Day.

The Employee Ownership Association (EOA) and EO Day 2017 sponsor Cambridge Weight Plan are urging employee owned businesses and their employees to celebrate their ownership structures as part of raising awareness of the economic benefits of employee ownership.

EO Day 2017 will take place on Friday 30 June and is the opportunity for employee owned businesses to join forces to celebrate their ownership and their  business triumphs over the past year.

As the UK faces continued economic uncertainty, employee owned businesses demonstrate their ability to prosper, being more resilient, more profitable and more innovative.

Deb Oxley CEO of the EOA said:

There has never been a more relevant time to celebrate and raise awareness of the benefits employee ownership brings to the UK economy and how this model of ownership contributes to better business, directly supporting the government’s drive for an economy that works for all.

“The voice of the sector is now stronger than ever, with the number of employee owned businesses growing at approximately 10% per annum. We are therefore looking forward to celebrating this, the 5th EO Day, with over 320 EOA members up and down the country.”

Chris McDermott, MD, of Cambridge Weight Plan, said:

“We are very pleased to be sponsoring the 5th EO day on 30 June 2017. This is the moment in the year when all employee owned companies across the country can celebrate their unique ownership model together. The day has fast become one of the highlights of our business year and each time we come together like this we find more things to celebrate, more things to share and talk about and more things to enjoy.

“I can’t wait to see what our employee ownership day will be like in 2022, but if the last five years are anything to go by we are certainly going to have an exciting time getting there.”
